Andrew
Jackson
B.Hum. (Hons) D.O.
Following owning and running one of the first health clubs in Reading,
Andrew qualified as an osteopath in 1986 from the British School
of Osteopathy.
As a keen sportsman Andrew decided to study osteopathy because
so many of the underlying osteopathic principles of health and
healing were completely in accordance with what he had applied
to his sporting life.
Representing Great Britain in Modern Pentathlon between 1979 and
1982, Andrew learnt that winning was often down to having that
mental edge as all the competitors were super-fit! Andrew is now
able to apply this belief, that general health is a mixture of
body and mind as the basis for his daily work.
Having completed the London to Paris triathlon,
which involved a relay swim across the Channel, Andrew now mainly
takes part in
very long bike races, such as the l’etape du tour, The Marmotte
and the Trans Rockie Challenge.
Andrew treats professional and amateur sports injuries and is
well known for his no nonsense pragmatic approach to getting
athletes
on the road to fitness, he is much more sympathetic to non-athletes
but will always encourage at least some gentle exercise.
